So, how are things going with the new Union Catalog? From what I'm seeing, most of you seem to be getting used to it. If you need any help, please don't hesitate to give me a call. I can also sit with you at your library if that is easier for you.

Interlibrary loans on OCLC have started. I left our lending services unavailable at the beginning of the month to give everyone a chance to get back into the routine of school before I started asking for books. As of September 10th, we have once again started lending books to libraries across the country. So far we have filled requests in the following states: Utah, New York, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Texas, Georgia, Kentucky, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Not bad - 10 states in 2 weeks. It's amazing to notice how much impact comes from our little libraries. I appreciate all the support you so willing give to help me help other libraries. You all ROCK!!

I don't usually post links in my "corner" of the page, but I have been taking a few wellness webinars that were recently offered by South Central Regional Library Council that I thought so of you may enjoy. You can view the recordings of the webinars and also obtain the slide, etc. at this link. http://www.scrlc.org/site/view/125
There is no cost involved. My favorite was Recipe for a Good Night’s Sleep.

"Imagine doing an internet search and not only would you find what you are looking for, but a tree would also be planted as a result. Enter Ecosia, a German-based search engine that apparently donates 80pc of its income to a tree-planting program in Brazil. Its search-engine results are mainly powered by Yahoo!
"The goal, it seems, is to empower people to do some social good when using the internet to look for and buy stuff.
"Ecosia has partnered with the Nature Conservancy's Plant A Billion Trees program to help play its part in reforesting the Brazilian Atlantic Forest."
